Machinery relocation & installations are high risk activities - Protect your people, property & reputation by using a proven specialist
As the business' responsible Engineer, all eyes are on you to ensure your machinery projects don't adversely affect production.Â
You'll need to consider the machine: dimensions, weight, services, where it will be positioned, access restrictions, floor loadings, resources required, etc.Â
But you'll also need to consider and liaise with security/gate-house, logistics managers, all production managers affected, operators and other personnel moving around site, OEM, transport operators and other contractors, etc.

Let our experience working in a manufacturing environment, and proven time-tested systems (designed to consider all the above and more), remove the stress & ensure you can report a successful outcome for the business.

The alternative:
'Cheap' contractors, likely cutting corners to save money and disrupting site because they believe their activity is more important.
DIY - utilising internal resources that are already stretched and not experienced enough to tackle these high risk activities.Â
We've gained a number of long term loyal customers as a result of internal movements gone wrong!Â
Imagine having to justify to senior management why valuable company property has been damaged or worse yet, why personnel have been seriously injured (which will also likely have to be explained to external authorities), not to mention the additional disruption to manufacturing operations.Â
Bringing in the right external experience, with the correct training and proven processes avoids all that potential risk.
If you've got a machinery project coming up, why not book a call to run through the details with one of our specialists.Â
For nothing more than the cost of a little time, we'll run through the details with you and highlight areas you might want to take a closer look at. At the same time, you'll be doing something great for someone in need, through our partnership with B1G1.
It's never too early to get in touch (we often book projects in 12 months in advance) - the sooner the better to ensure everything is planned properly!

'We believe every business, no matter the size, has the power to make a positive impact in the world. Which is why every enquiry call booked here, triggers an automatic donation to a worthy cause, through our partnership with B1G1 - regardless of how far into the future your project may be'
Novatec was recently instructed by Ingredient Batching Systems Ltd. to carry out the relocation of a jam production line from Kerry Foods in Worcestershire to a new home with Zeelandia in Wigan.Â
The 12-week project was completed on budget and a full 2-weeks ahead of schedule, leaving everyone involved extremely happy with the results:
We have many other similar reviews available, gathered from a number of happy, repeat customers over the years. If you would like to see more, please just ask!
In the years since moving into machinery contracting, we've worked with manufacturing customers of all shapes and sizes.Â
The result:Â
A well organised, safe and efficient machinery installation and handling service, that has been designed to take the stress of these high risk activities away from you.
Attending daily production meetings to give progress updates, dealing with Production Managers who want their area back and Safety Officers who want to jump all over the machinery contractors, not to mention hoards of production operatives who want a ringside seat to each movement!
With each machine handled we've reviewed and refined our processes and looked to improve. This continual improvement has become integrated into the overall process itself.
"First of all, I’d like to say a massive thank you for the work your guys did on Wednesday.Â
They were the best team of guys I’ve ever worked with on a machine move.Â
Everything went smoothly, and the guys were extremely professional and hard-working"
- PS, Technical Support Specialist - Fujifilm.
Novatec has completed a number of machine movements over the years for global speciality ink manufacturer, Fujifilm. From large format digital print machines to R&D rigs, all have been completed with the same repeatable care and expertise:
"Your team shipped a jetting rig for us last week down from Cambridge to Fujifilm in Broadstairs.Â
We just wanted to extend our thanks to you and your team. The guys you sent were absolutely stellar and there were no issues or damage to our very sensitive equipment.
We’ll definitely be using you again in the future."
- AJ, R&D Integration Specialist - Fujifilm.
"I cannot thank or commend each and everyone of you enough for the dedication, hard work and professionalism shown during what has been brilliantly executed project. You made my life easy!
Taking into account the multidisciplined, technical nature of the work, the pressurised environment and safety aspects, a project of this size would normally take a Project Manager like myself 6 months plus to plan let alone execute so that says it all, you’ve raised the bar!Â
The deadline for making the plant operational was presented to the business in the early stages and this has been achieved so another thank you"
- JF, Project Manager - Viridor.
Following a fire at Viridor's plastics processing facility in Rochester, as a regular and trusted machinery contractor, Novatec was appointed as CDM Principal Contractor to complete:

- Removal of the damaged machinery
- Installation of the newÂ
- Repairs to the damaged building structure, including fabrication & replacement of portal frame rafters, temporary works to support the remaining building and replacement of damaged roof purlins/sheets.

In addition to managing a suite of additional contractors carrying out electrical repairs, CCTV repairs, fire suppression repairs/modification, deep cleaning, etc.:
"Thank you for your tremendous work and commitment during the last four months.Â
Without your hard work, diligence and long hours, we would not have been able to meet our extremely tight deadline. Thanks to everyone's major efforts we have been able to start up with minimal downtime.Â
Your hard work and dedication have been noticed, and I, along with the management team, would like to express my deep gratitude to all of you"
- DH, Maintenance Manager - Viridor.
Minimal production downtime & disruption
Maximum safety of all personnel, plant & property
Protection of your investment & reputation
Clear structured communication with all stakeholders
"Dear Neil
Just to add my thanks for the months of planning which resulted in two days of intensive work to safely extract Invicta from the Poor Priests Hospital in Canterbury and deliver her to Whitstable Museum.  You also helped us to lift the 1830 stationary beam engine parts using a single crane operation. Â
The lifting cradle was a triumph and satisfied all requirements - real and imaginary. Â
All the team worked well together and even the weather cooperated. Â Visitors to the museum have shot up and everybody in Whitstable is pleased."
- PB, Member of the Board of Trustees - Whitsable Community Museum.
In the past we've worked on some amazing projects but lifting the second oldest steam engine in the country over a grade 2 listed building, whilst slightly out of the ordinary, is one of our firm favourites. We've included a couple of short videos about it below.
